WELCOME TO JUST A MINUTE! RADIO SEASON 8 1973-1974 |
||||||
Season length: 26 shows. Chairman: Nicholas Parsons. Regular Panellists: Peter Jones (24 shows), Clement Freud (20 shows), Derek Nimmo (18 shows), Kenneth Williams (14 shows). Semi-regular Panellists: Sheila Hancock (six shows), Andree Melly (four shows), Aimi Macdonald (four shows), Jean Marsh (four shows). Guest Panellists: Ian Carmichael (two shows), David Jacobs (two shows), Alfred Marks (two shows), Warren Mitchell (two shows), Barry Took (two shows). Making A Debut: Ian Carmichael, David Jacobs, Alfred Marks, Jean Marsh, Warren Mitchell, Barry Took. Commentary: For the first time there are male guests. The season seems to be less structured than in previous years, perhaps because production duties are shared between four people. Also Kenneth and Clement do not appear in every show, for Clement the first shows he had missed in the show's history. Clement was by this time a Member of Parliament and was told the reason was they needed to have some shows in reserve in case an election was called. Under election broadcasting rules even appearances on JAM by a leading Liberal such as Clement would have to be balanced by appearances by the other parties. Kenneth was busy with stage work and his absence is notable in some of the shows. Of the newcomers only Alfred Marks went on to appear many more times. 142/8/1 Click here for transcript Broadcast date: 30 July 1973. Chairman: Nicholas Parsons.
