Commentary:
The BBC had a try at turning JAM into a day-time game show. The season was recorded over a week at studios in Birmingham, and as a result there is a feeling that the producers have employed whoever was available without really thinking through who they wanted on the show. Tony Slattery was announced as a regular in the media, but didn't appear. JAM regular of the past Wendy Richard led the cast with newcomer Linda Smith backed by Peter Jones, Tony Hawks and Gyles Brandreth, but overall there was a feeling that too many inexperienced and not very articulate people had been employed. Too few of the shows work. The contract was not renewed.
